Introducing Product Catalog

A Product Catalog is a centralized database that stores all your product information within Criteo. It includes essential details like product IDs, names, descriptions, prices, images, and other key attributes. This catalog represents your complete product inventory, which Criteo imports and processes from your product feed through CatalogImport to power your dynamic retargeting campaigns.

When you maintain an organized Product Catalog, Criteo can show relevant and personalized ads using your most up-to-date product information. This also enables advanced features like focusing your campaigns on best-selling products or creating custom product groups for more targeted advertising.

Why use it?

  • It ensures your ads reflect the most up-to-date and accurate product information.

  • It enables dynamic and personalized retargeting campaigns, improving conversion rates.

  • It allows segmentation of products into sets, helping you tailor campaigns to specific product groups.

  • It reduces manual effort by automating product data updates via scheduled imports.

Where to find the Product Catalog?

From the left-hand menu of Commerce Growth, navigate to the Assets section > Product Catalog.

How it works?

Once your product feed is uploaded and scheduled for import, CatalogImport processes the data and populates the Product Catalog. The catalog is then used to dynamically power your retargeting campaigns.

Key settings and options include:

  • Feed scheduling: Set up automatic regular imports to keep the catalog current.

  • Mapping & rules: Configure how feed attributes map to catalog fields and set filtering rules.

  • Product sets: Create custom groups of products to tailor ad campaigns.

  • Verification & maintenance: Monitor feed health and troubleshoot any data issues.

Default behavior: When connected to a valid product feed imported through CatalogImport, the catalog updates automatically based on your import schedule, ensuring your ads reflect the latest product inventory and details.

Feature interactions: The Product Catalog integrates with campaign management and audience targeting features. Product sets you create here can be directly referenced in campaign setups to refine ad targeting.

Best Practices for using Product Catalog are:

  • Regularly verify your product feed for accuracy before import.

  • Use product sets to focus campaigns on high-performing or seasonal products.

  • Avoid overlapping product sets that may cause campaign conflicts.

  • Leverage automated scheduling to minimize manual updates and reduce errors.
