Blocked Ads

Criteo is committed to maintaining a trusted advertising ecosystem aligned with the marketing goals and the brand requirements of our marketers and media owners alike.

We ensure the ads we serve are compliant with our advertising guidelines by recognizing product images and keywords and classify them as Safe or Unsafe. If your ad is classified as Unsafe, it is blocked.

A product could be blocked due to: 

  • Keyword 

  • Category 

  • Product ID 

  • Image 

What is classified as unsafe?

We leverage image & keyword-recognition ML engine to protect our publishers' identity and ensure that ads do not display content and products against our guidelines. 

 

A product image or keyword classified belonging to one of below categories* is considered unsafe and blocked from display in Ad banners.  

  1. Adult: Includes nudity, sexual objects, art and paintings, and sexually suggestive or explicit images or texts 

  1. Weapons: Includes tactical knives, swords, firearms or any other object whose main use is as a weapon 

  1. Violence & Profanity: Includes violent images, blood, gore, hate speech, mockery and any attack against targeted groups of people 

  1. Alcohol* 

  1. Tobacco*

  1. Drugs and illicit substances 

  1. Health & Self-care* 

  1. Gambling*

  1. Scam & Fraud  

  1. Others: Any unsafe content not classified under any of the other categories 

  1. The products and services that are not allowed
