Retargeting audience
Retargeting audience shows ads to people who have previously visited your website. The users in this audience are gathered from the Criteo OneTag on your website, which allows us to better understand each person’s journey around your website.
Each time someone visits your website, they are automatically added to your Retargeting audience. Depending on the audience setup rules you’ve selected, these users can then become eligible to be served an ad within your Retargeting campaign.
Retargeting audience settings
You can narrow down your Retargeting audience to a more focused group of visitors. For example, you can filter to focus on users who have visited within a certain timeframe, or you could add a filter based on whether they’ve previously purchased from your site or not.
How to set up
Open the right Navigation menu and select Manage & Measure > Campaigns > Ad Sets.
Select Create ad set and then select the campaign you wish to assign it to.
Note: Only campaigns that have a chosen objective of conversions/sales can have a Retargeting ad set linked to it.
Name your new ad set and from the audience menu, select Retargeting as your audience type.
Select any additional audience settings:
Preferred visitor type: by default, all visitors including past buyers and non-buyers are targeted. However, you can choose to target only website visitors who are past buyers or only non-buyers.
Target people who visited your site within a specified time: for example, choose to target people who visited your site in the last 30 days by selecting 0 to 30 days in the date range fields.
Specific audience to exclude: you can exclude a specific set of audiences by tuning on the toggle and selecting an existing contact list audience or creating a new one.
Complete the remainder of the Campaign Creation process.
